Latha
Latha is a storyteller whose soul comprises visuals and words that translate into narratives.
She set up her production house ‘Iris Film’ in the year 1996 with the intent of producing content that is emotional, aesthetic and informative.
She has directed and produced over 150 ad films. Her high-profile clients include HAP’s Arokya Milk, Hatsun curd and Arun Ice creams, Unilever, and Britannia among others.
Latha also has been filming documentaries that deal with contemporary social issues and personalities. This includes documentaries on adoption for the ‘Karna Prayag Trust’, The National Association for Blindness and ‘The Hindu.’ Vaal Paarai Vata Paarai, a music video directed by Latha featuring Malgudi Shubha was among MTV’s top 100 music videos in 1999. She has won several awards in the advertising space.
For Latha Menon, learning is a constant to stay relevant in this dynamic field of media. To fine-tune her cinematic eye, she has been an assistant director for Mani Ratnam in Kannathil Mutthamittal and Dil Se. From 2019 onwards, Latha Menon turned as a producer for ‘Sarvam Thaalamayam’ and ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai VIdiyaadal’
Rajiv Menon
Rajiv is a cinematographer, director, ad filmmaker, actor, singer, orator and teacher, 53 years old. Rajiv has worked with top directors such as Mani Ratnam, Girish Karnad, and Shyam Benegal, among others, in his long career.
- In 1986, Rajiv founded the eponymous Rajiv Menon Productions (RMP) and began producing TV commercials for several big brands.
- His cinematography for Mani Ratnam’s Guru won him the Apsara Award and the Shantaram Award.
- Rajiv’s deep understanding of cinema and his technical excellence as a cinematographer saw him directing a blockbuster movie in 1995, Minsara Kanuvu. Dubbed Sapnay in Hindi, the film in Tamil won four national awards. In 2000, Rajiv directed Kandukondain Kandukondain, which won the. Filmfare award that year for best film and best director. He directed his third film Sarvam Thaalamayam, under Mindscreen Cinemas. The film was well received on its release and it was screened in Tokyo International Film Festival 2018.
- He established Mindscreen Film Institute in 2006 to create a system and community that prepared budding cinematographers and filmmakers with the technical skills required for the media industry.
